Summary of achieved project results
The LobsterPlant project is now nearing the end of its project period. The SMEs and RTDs have been working intensively and been rewarded with several promising results.
Prototype completed and ready for testing
The integration of the robot, feeding system and imaging system is now complete and is awaiting testing at Tjelbergodden, Norsk Hummer AS’ site for lobster juvenile production.
LobsterPlant Project presented at Clovelly Crab and Lobster Feast
On 5th September 2010, thousands of people attended the Clovelly Crab and Lobster Feast, a seafood festival that regularly attracts large crowds to the scenic fishing village of Clovelly in North Devon, United Kingdon.
The National Lobster Hatchery took this opportunity to disseminate some of the activities undertaken on the Lobster Plant FP7 funded EU project, over 100 leaflets about the project were distributed on the day and a banner was displayed illustrating the main objectives of the project. Throughout the day the stand was busy and attracted a lot of attention from visitors.
This event complemented the dissemination activities undertaken by the Seafood Restaurant at the Falmouth Fish festival on the 30th and 31st of May 2010, which also attracted thousands of visitors, displayed the banners and also distributed over 100 leaflets about the project.
Prototype
Currenlty, Labor and TI are working on building the prototype which will be tested at Tjelberdodden in August. The prototype will include the robot which hold the feeding system and the imaging system. All will be controlled by a developed software. The next management & technical meeting of the board will be held in Oslo in September 2010. At this meeting the results from the validation tests will be presented.
New Production Manager at Norsk Hummer's facility at Tjelbergodden, Norway
We are happy to inform that Mr. Sven Arild Korsvoll has accepted a position as Production Manager at Norsk Hummer’s facility at Tjelbergodden, Norway. Korsvoll has an Ms Science in Aquaculture (cand agric) from the University of Life Science, where he specialized in applied quantitative genetics. His work experience includes numerous positions in Aqua Gen, both as a project manager, production manager and breeding manager during his 14 years with this company.

A technical meeting is held in Trondheim, Norway, where the RTDs and SMEs are represented. The RTDs presented the technical development to date of the robotics, imaging, and feeding technologies as well as development of feed and of disinfection methods. Further, the RTDs presented plans for continued work.

The LobsterPlant project is presented at one of the stands at the AquaNor Exhibition 2009, in Trondheim, Norway.
Technical & Management Meeting held in Stavanger - March 4th, 2009
The Consortium of LobsterPlant held their six month technical and management meeting in Stavanger, Norway. On the agenda was amongst other presentation from the RTDs on the Scientific Knowledge found which will lay the foundation for the technical work in the months ahead.

Kick-Off October 30th - 31st, 2008
The Consortium of LobsterPlant has its Kick-off Meeting at the facilities of Norsk Hummer AS at Tjelbergodden, Norway, on October 30th. The following day, a technical meeting is held in Trondheim, Norway, to discuss the tasks ahead.
